Ep. 91 Did Def Leppard Save the KISS Tour? Plus… Could you ever stop being a KISS fan?

Episode 91, September 2, 2014. Lots to discuss this week! First we welcome Mark Cicchini onboard as our new cohost! We kick things off talking about KISS fans, well Ace Frehley fans. We move into a wrap up on the 40th Anniversary Tour and our predictions for what the future holds for this hugely successful tour with Def Leppard opening. We then get into the meat of the show with a discussion on if KISS could ever do something so bad that it pisses you off so much you would stop being a KISS fan. Mark then takes us back to 1975 and cracks the seal on a very rare promotional t-shirt and shows us some of his collectible RIAA awards.

Michael and Tommy put in hours every week to record, produce and promote Three Sides Of The Coin. We don’t have any advertisers or sponsors and would love to keep it that way. Great discussion today. Mark seems like a real good fit for this podcast.

My only comment about yesterday’s awesome podcast is that it is now a weekly routine that you need to spend a lot of time reflecting on viewers who think you guys hate Ace Frehley. It sounds like a few core people vs hundreds. If that is the case, please move on. It’s getting old at this point. I know you get a lot of chuckles from it since the mud is being slung directly at you, but as a viewer, I would rather talk about something else. Fair?

    • Michael

Fair enough that you feel that way, but this show has always, from day one, been about the KISS fans as well as the band. That isn’t going to change, sorry.

  • Michael

Actually that isn’t correct. KISS and DL didn’t split revenue. KISS got paid a guaranteed fee, regardless of who else is on the bill or if the show is sold out. DL got paid their own guaranteed fee. Sorry but Ace and Peter would do nothing to ensure a sell out on their own. They didn’t back on the Psycho Circus or the Farewell Tour when there were plenty of shows not sold out featuring the original band.

    • Michael

Sorry but nobody outside of the small core diehard fanbase care about Ace and Peter coming back. They did the reunion once, it won’t work again. Most people are seeing KISS on tour right now.

Maybe you should understand the definition of a shill before you try using such big words.
