Ep. 202 We Boldly Go Where No KISS Podcast Has Gone Before

Episode 202, November 1, 2016. This week we boldly go where no KISS podcast has gone before. We are joined by John Champion the cohost of the Star Trek podcast Mission Log. What? Star Trek? Yes, we discuss fandom… the fans of KISS and the fans of Star Trek and how they are not very different. Both have strong opinionated fans. Both have fans that think of themselves as gatekeepers… deciding who is a real fan, who is worthy fan. Star Trek has originals only fans. KISS has originals only fans. Star Trek and KISS have been around for decades and will be around for many more years as new, young fans discover both properties.

    Hi guys.

Great show this week! Kiss / Star Trek fandom
compared and contrasted. John made an interesting point that Kiss is the
only band that could continue indefinitely without any of the original
members. But another band that had this idea in their original concept was
Devo. They wanted to have multiple Devos touring simultaneously.
